Very basic but yet an effective course. An easy explanation of different processes of a Supply Chain. The mentor has explained everything through pictures and flow charts which made it easy to understand. He has also provided the slides used in the course for later reference. Good for anyone who is new to the Supply Cain. I really wish him to create a more detailed and advanced course.

Client Requirements

Our client was in search of a highly experienced specialist to assist in the resolution of a Strategic Operations Management Business Case. This case required an in-depth analysis of the current operations strategies in place, including a thorough review of any associated financial and operational data.

The specialist was expected to develop a comprehensive plan for improvement that would enable the client to maximize their operational efficiency and cost savings.

The Methodology

1) Draw a map of the main product flows and process steps at milestone packaging using data from the case study. Describe these flows in writing and highlight the main operational trade-offs faced at milestone packaging while referring to the order winners and order qualifiers.

Identify specific operational challenges the company is facing and describe how relevant dimensions of the performance (customer satisfaction, economic performance, delivery time relate to these challenges).

2) Calculate the unit fill rate separately for each design type (new amended repeat) and the entire operation, as given by the definition:

Unit fill rate = Total product quantity filled on the time/ total product quantity to be delivered

Present our findings in a table and discuss them in detail, highlighting any problem area revealed by our investigation.

Additionally, to investigate the tardiness ( lateness in days) per category ( use supporting data and make reasonable assumptions as necessary (show the calculations).

3) Highlight two distinct initiatives we would recommend to address the problem with delivery performance (on-time deliveries) while maintaining high operational efficiency. (our argument is supported by evidence from the case and our preceding analysis).
