Very basic but yet an effective course. An easy explanation of different processes of a Supply Chain. The mentor has explained everything through pictures and flow charts which made it easy to understand. He has also provided the slides used in the course for later reference. Good for anyone who is new to the Supply Cain. I really wish him to create a more detailed and advanced course.

Operational Excellence seems like a concept reserved for corporate giants like Toyota or Nike. But the truth is, it’s a powerful and accessible philosophy that can transform your SME in the same way, generating measurable and sustainable benefits.

In this article, we will guide you through the key concepts so you can move from a vision of a “more efficient business” to a reality of a “more profitable business.”

The Myth of the ‘Magic Bullet’

Many leaders believe that a single software, a new machine, or a miraculous technological solution will solve all their problems. I’ve seen it happen again and again. However, technology alone isn’t the solution. It only automates an existing process, and if that process is inefficient, it will only make it inefficient faster. The key to excellence isn’t a single point, but the union of three pillars.

The Three Pillars of Your Business: People, Processes, and Technology

The secret behind the most efficient companies in the world isn’t the technology they use, but how they use it. An operational excellence system is based on a “Perfect Triangle” where each pillar strengthens the others:

  1. Processes: You must optimize your workflows before you automate them.
  2. People: The team must be trained and empowered to drive continuous improvement.
  3. Technology: This is the tool that accelerates and supports your people’s processes and decisions.

Your Roadmap to Excellence: High-Impact Strategies

Operational Excellence is not a destination; it’s a journey. Here is a roadmap with the first steps you can take to start generating results in your business:

  • Combat Inventory Waste: Excess stock doesn’t just take up space; it also hides deeper problems. We show you how to use Lean principles to optimize your inventory levels.
  • Maximize Your Equipment’s Performance: OEE is the key indicator that tells you if your machinery is performing at its peak. Learn how to go further and measure OOE for real profitability.
  • Eliminate Production Delays: We share three Lean strategies that you can implement immediately on your shop floor to reduce bottlenecks and unexpected delays.
  • Optimize Your Logistics Costs: You don’t need a massive investment to improve your supply chain. Discover how to apply the “garbage in, garbage out” principle to eliminate waste and boost your profits.
  • Overcome Digital Resistance: Technology is an investment that only delivers ROI if your team adopts it. Here we explain how to ensure your team isn’t the biggest obstacle.

Turn Your Vision into Real Results

Operational Excellence isn’t just for industry leaders; it’s for leaders who want to become one.

If you’re ready to move from vision to implementation and start seeing measurable results in your business, we’re here to help.

I believe that it is healthy laziness that moves the world and business forward, and I am always ready to help find the most effective and appropriate solutions concerning strategic and change management, as well as various efficiency solutions in office work.

As a practicing consultant in Latvia, I already have 20 years of experience in various fields related to the optimization of organizational management:

  • I can help with advice on implementing the Balanced Scorecard system,
  • I have experience in creating IT and document management system modernization strategies,
  • I am a certified European ergonomist, and therefore we can work together on modern office solutions that both increase work efficiency and create comfortable and health-friendly workplaces.

I am constantly updating my knowledge both informally – following everything new in my areas of competence, and also formally: I have master’s degrees in pedagogy, economics, nutrition science, and modeling of sociotechnical systems. In 2021, I was a full-time student again for 1 semester – at the University of Buffalo (USA).

It is this unique “set” that allows me to view various processes, trends, and organizational needs holistically, offering realistic and at the same time modern solutions.

I also share my experience with students of various Latvian universities, I have given lectures in Lithuania, Germany, and Moldova as part of the Erasmus+ program, as well as participated in the international Sail program.

I also like to conduct corporate training.
